Negligence Complaint Filed Followed Tractor-Trailer Collision

Three people have filed a complaint alleging negligence after their vehicle was involved in a tractor-trailer collision in Arcadia Parish.

The complaint was filed in the District Court in the Western District of Louisiana relating to an accident on November 27, 2015. Wilfred Davis, Karnisha Williams and Breonna Robinson filed the complaint against Southern County Mutual Insurance Co., Berrios Transportation and Clemente Quintanilla.

The complaint states that the plaintiffs were traveling in a motor vehicle in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 in Arcadia Parish when suddenly and without warning, their vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer owned by Berrio’s Transportation and operated by Quintanilla. The plaintiffs go on to allege they sustained severe and disabling injuries resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish, medical expenses and lost wages.

The complaint cites negligence and holds the defendants guilty as Quintanilla allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout and failed to maintain proper control of the vehicle.

A trial by jury has been requested seeking compensation for damages in an amount to be determined at trial, plus interest, litigation costs and such other relief that the law may provide.
